Promises Promises

Bob and I are so disappointed because the weather men keep promising snow, but we still don't have any new snow. On Sunday we were to get a foot to 20 inches. No snow! Today we were to receive a foot. Six miles down the road from us they received four feet! Us? No snow. Do you think that our buying snow shoes in the fall has anything to do with no snow this winter?

Four feet of snow!!!!! Oh my goodness!!!!!!!! The only time I can relate to anything near that was about 25 years ago this week when Larry hit the East Coast. The CT Governor closed the state for several days but for emergency vehicles or 4 wheel drive. Back then the only real 4 wheel drives were Jeeps and there weren't many families with them. When the ban lifted at noon, we had our VW ski rack loaded with our 3 pairs of skis and we were backing out our driveway to go to the local ski area for the afternoon of great powder skiing which is rare in CT.

I can't imagine living where you do without 4 wheel drive.

Did your company arrive safely?

Hope they like Mexican food, apple pie and cinnamon twists.

Oh be careful what you ask for. Remember how Bob always wanted girls and he ended up with two boys? God answers in his own time ya know! Look at Bob now... He got 5 girls just by saying "I do"! Only it was about 25 years later.

I just want it to snow so I can have another snow day off work!! It will probably snow next weekend when I have Monday off. Our company arrived and we had a great time together. They left this afternoon but will be back later this week.

Shannon,

Lisa just called and told me there was a winter snow storm issued for tonight. I guess we'll see what happens.

I think it's pretty funny to hear you wishing for snow. I know you how much you hate cold weather. I guess you just want the excuse to stay warm inside and take off work. We NEVER get snow days in my job. Once, the electricity went out, and we just kept working (for the few that showed up.)

You best be careful what you wish for, 4 feet of snow is nothing to get excited about unless your a kid! Well, I guess you might get to stay home from work a few days, but you'd be stuck at home so thats not that great!

I take it back, if it's a paid snow day then it is pretty good!

Did you get the hoped for big snowstorm? We are getting snow tonight that will turn to sleet and then heavy rain all day on Wed. Wish I were able to stay put at home.

Wow, 4 ft. of snow is a lot, especially to not get any at your house just 6 miles away, this isnt one of those exagerated stories is it? Its hard to hear sarcasm in writing. We are supposed to get 6, and we already got 4 (inches that is) so, we arent getting a snow day:(

What's up in your world the past week or so as I've missed reading your blog and seeing your pictures?

I had a job offer last Fri. and accepted it this Monday so I am one happy camper! So wonderful to have the stress behind me. That's what's new with my week.
