I've Been Busy!

I left New York Wednesday morning around 8:04 a.m. and arrived at the hospital in Michigan at 5:35 p.m. It usually takes me twelve hours to drive from New York to Michigan. I guess there must not have been as much traffic!

Since arriving, I've been very busy, but loving every minute of it. Tony and I have gone grocery shopping twice. Thursday evening Rachael and the family and Francie came over to Todd and Lori's for dinner. Friday evening, everyone went to Rachael and Derrick's house for dinner. Natalie and Adam arrived Thursday night and Natalie joined us for dinner on Friday. Adam wasn't feeling too good, so he stayed home for the evening. Today, Sabbath, I took Anthony to Sabbath School. I wasn't sure if I could handle him for both church and Sabbath school, so I opted for just Sabbath school. Francie met me there to help. Tony sure loves participating in the program. Todd arrived shortly after the program had begun - so the three of us took turns helping Tony with the activities. Today is Derrick's birthday, so we celebrated at Lori and Todd's house for lunch. Rachael brought two cakes and I made lunch. Adam was feeling better so everyone came for the celebration.

Right now, Lori and Isabella are taking a nap and so is Tony. The house is really quiet. Baby Isabella is so cute and she is such a good baby - so far she has only cried when she is hungry. I'm enjoying spending time with both Tony and Isabella.

I feel very honored to have one of my grandchildren named after me. Todd wanted Isabella's middle name to be my first name, Cecelia, but Lori thought that would be a little too much of a name for such a little girl - so they decided to use my middle name as Isabella's middle name. What an honor for me.

Bob and I now have 19 grandchildren. We still get excited when we hear about another new grandchild and just as anxious to get to hold them for the first time. Each grandchild holds a very special place in our family.

Here are a few pictures that were taken the first evening Isabella arrived home.

She is just beautiful!

The spoiling process has begun.

Anthony meeting his little sister at home. Todd's parents live close by so they took care of Anthony and brought him up to the hospital to meet his new little sister. I heard that Anthony wasn't quite sure what this new baby sister thing was all about.

Baby Update

Baby Isabella weighs 8# 0 oz; 20 1/4 inches long and has lots of light brown hair. She is nursing and then Lori is hoping to get a much needed nap. Momma and baby are doing great! I haven't heard how daddy is doing. I'm sure he is very excited though.

The baby is here

Baby Isabella has arrived - 8:57 a.m. Lori is feeling great! Weight and length will be coming soon!

Just waiting for the doctor

Lori is ready to have the baby - she's just waiting for the doctor to arrive. Rachael is with her but DeAnn (cousin) will be delivering the baby. (If she gets there in time.)

The Baby is on the way . . .

Lori headed for the hospital this morning around 3:00 a.m. Rachael is on call, but my cousin DeAnn will be delivering the baby. I'm sure Rachael will be there to supervise and make sure Lori has all the comforts possible when giving birth. I've decided to leave tomorrow to spend a week or so. You know, grandma's have to be there immediately after the birth to start the spoiling process. I'll keep posting as I receive info.

Puppies and more

Friday I left right after breakfast to go to Shannon's house. We decided that while Madeline (the little pack-rat) was at school, we would organize and re-arrange her bedroom. Shannon was hoping to eliminate a few things (toys) that Madeline had out-grown. As we were going through the toys and organizing them, I picked-up a corner of the wall to wall area rug (it had probably been there for forty years or more) and realized that under that carpet was painted wood floors. And it looked like it was in good condition. Shannon took a look and together we decided the carpet was going out. We had to cut the carpet in small sections and move all the stuff in the room to one side, then, the other, we moved that furniture at least four or five times before we were able to get all the carpet cut and out. Then we had to sweep and mop the floor, once again moving the furniture. Finally we placed all the furniture and organized her toys placing the toys she had outgrown in the hallway to be taken to the garage until Shannon has her yard sale. However, we were to late in moving the stuff from the hallway to the garage. We heard the school bus and Madeline arrived home. She was so excited to see her room. But she wanted to know where we were going to put the little kitchen that was in the hallway. Needless to say, we found a place to put her play kitchen back in her room and all was saved.

Before leaving the area, I wanted to go by and see Ryan, Lisa, and the kids and their dog Molly's new puppies. The puppies are now five weeks old and just the cutest little yellow butterballs. Molly had six pure bred yellow lab puppies. Two girls and four boys. Next Tuesday an ad will come out in the paper looking for new homes for five of them. Matthew gets to keep one for his own. Molly is little Ryan's dog.

The second puppy from the end on the right has blue eyes.

Ryan thinks they're pretty cute!

Madeline loves them too!

Gracie is showing me how loose their skin is.

Hannah was showing me one of her favorites!
